Kaz Brekker. No other comment. only 3.5 because I didn't care about some character perspectives and would skip through them.

A YA magical 'bank heist' novel that substitutes characters and their backstories for gadgets, which to me is way better than the usual romp novel. A fun read though the plot is a bit silly as are some of the character interactions.

I really enjoyed this and probably need to go back and read the author's earlier series to get all the background supporting the conflict between the various countries.

"A gambler, a convict, a wayward son, a lost Grisha, a Suli girl who had become a killer, a boy from the Barrel who had become something worse."

This was something else, I totally wasn't expecting it, and that's what I love about starting a book without reading even the synopses, lol. In the beginning I didn't love the change of POV , but I got used to it and now I love the fact that I can know what every character is thinking (I'm glad they put Wylan's in book 2).

I thought the ending would be very different,
I was expecting a happy ending, naive I know
but I loved it, this book surprised me in many ways...
