I found the story a bit hard to follow - too much back story for such a short volume. The time jumps and the background was difficult to keep up with and then the action happened so fast.

The character development felt patchy and there wasn’t proper resolution or explanation before things just moved on. I hated the male protagonist and felt nothing for the queen.

The sexism was a lot too. Every background character that was femme presenting was hyper sexualised.
