R. Crumb is a legend, but I wasn't a fan of this collection. The first half is okay, depicting Mr. Natural as a spoof of 60's gurus that's mostly harmless outside of some... problematic depictions of people of color. The second half of the book is mostly about "Devil Girl" and is pervy to the point of being uncomfortable. It gets super rapey and mostly made me feel gross.

Mr. Natural is a great foil for the man who is his reluctant acolyte. Shit gets weird with the Devil Woman in the last 40% of the book, but clearly deliberately so. At the very least, the character is good for understanding the diversity of viewpoints (and self-contradictions) that your average 1960's weirdo could hold, just like any 2018 weirdo.
