I found so many things in this book very questionable..

Emma and Sophia basically bully each other and smh after seeing what the other wrote about them, they immediately love each other. Tom humiliating his Gf at work in front of literal minors and yet her forgiving him immediately after he makes one Giant romantic gesture he didn't even plan himself.
Also the whole thing about Emma coming out to her parents.. I think her parents reacted really well, her being bisexual is just a small part of who she is and IT SHOULDNT MATTER THAT MUCH!!! Also, saying that being gay is more "fun"... ugh

The characters felt very hollow. Emma's only personality traits seem to be that she's bisexual and "believes in love". While Sophia's a lesbian and doesn't "believe in love".

This book is obviously written for a younger audience and I just wish there weren't so many problematic things being said and done. It's not cute, it's normalizing putting up with someone literally bullying you because they like you???

I honestly don't know how I managed to finish this book, it just really wasn't for me. The cover design is pretty tho.

Also, all the characters are really desperately in need for some therapy...

I don’t know I wish I could say I liked this book but I found it cringey and I really didn’t like the characters. They were insufferable and their relationships were toxic and odd. I also wasn’t a fan of the writing but that may be a personal thing. Another personal annoyance I had, and this goes with all novels, is how casually the word “love” is thrown around. I don’t know it read very middle school rather then high school

I love lesbians! i love bisexuals! i love wlw!

the idea of representation and it’s importance hits so close to home. it’s the feeling that i just want to see myself celebrated and loved in the way that traditional cishet relationships are.

a good read if you want something light and gay with a happy ending

Really cute sapphic book.  Light on the angst and with a happy ending.  The humor was good and I really enjoyed it.  I definitely liked Sophia’s POV better, at first Emma kinda annoyed me but I loved her by the end of the book.

I’m not sure how I felt with the drama, the lack of communication just kinda bothered me.  The friendships were okay at the beginning but then several characters just annoyed me.  In the end everything worked out how I hoped so overall this book was a good lighthearted read.

it was an okay read. emma and sophia were a bit annoying the first few chapters but i still quite enjoyed the enemies to lovers trope.
i’m glad it was a quick read because even though i appreciated all the gay moments, the bisexual representation and had fun watching them create the films, i was very aware how young they alle are. i read quite a lot of YA literature but in this one the characters felt especially young and immature.
also lowkey hating the fact that kate and tom got back together because he was just an asshole and his behavior had nothing to do with him being a teenager but that might just be my opinion.
a cliché YA romance novel which was fun to read but i wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

I tried reading this last year but the characters irritated me so much that I decided to DNF it. However with it being something i'd usually enjoy, I wanted to give it another go.

Ok, so this is a cute story! But I do have some problems with it.

I do feel like Sophia and Emma's relationship wasn't well fleshed out. They literally went from hating each other to loving each other without any proper character development. Also, there was no back story as to why they hated each other at the start of the book.

The ending was a bit rushed as well. Within what seems like a week, Sophia and Emma's relationship had quite the rollercoaster and ended with them saying 'i love you' to each other which seems a bit too soon. But maybe that's because teen relationships would be like that?

This is probably more suited to young teens with the writing style and the teen elements in the story.

This was just the perfect amount of angst and romcom.
