So full disclosure I thought neo year was crap. So, like, I was hesitant to sub to this at all. Like, genuinely worried it was going to be trash, too.

But it's Kelly, so like right then and there, I should have known better. I liked how he wrote Cap and the way he worked within a (IMO) esp stupid plotline. So, I was like oh okay.

I forgot Lumos was still alive, that's disappointing. I do like that there is essentially a new Oracle and the character is a 'reformed' villain, which was a good light humor crack. And utilizing the character a little better.

Terry actually calling his mom, having a conversation with her, those were good touches. Made Terry feel like Terry again. Vs just Batman, which... I get what was going on before but it was also just a stupidly depressing run.

Tbh I hope one day Dan Mora does an issue of BBeyond, I would love to see the sharper more angular look without it losing that more 'realistic' feel. The new Batstuit design is kinda typical to how all new suits are looking, but it's fun. The red highlights are cute. I don't know if that's what they were going for but I was like aww he has spider-gwen style shoes and cute lil claws. Adorable. Not ... scary.

Also the fact that Gotham is apparently built like Seattle (but with more layers of course) kills me. So I am excited to see this keep going. (Also the fact that people swear to Kal like they swear to god hahaha nice! Or the catbois? Oh my god.) There's a lot going on here and it's a nicer balance of the kinda funnier side of Bbeyond vs Batman, and also that darker end of the future being an even bleaker place.
