This read like an episode of "Are You Afraid of the Dark" and was not at all what the synopsis said. If you want a quick YA story with no surprises, full of unnatural -sounding dialog and horror clichées, give it a go. Otherwise, you might end up disappointed.

This story was good, short, easy to read and follow.  Short chapters which make it quick to read. The characters were likable; the good ones.
A good introduction in to horror based stories. Would recommend to someone who wants to try the horror genre as it doesn't over power the story.  I would of enjoyed it more of there had been a bit more.

I enjoyed this very much. I have fallen in love with Ashley, I hope for many more wonderful stories of her adventures. This is the first of Iain R. Wright’s work that I have read, and am very grateful for the 5 free books he offers. Assuming they are of the same caliber as Witch, I shall devour them with glee and gluttony.

"Witch: A Horror Novel (The Cursed Manuscripts)" by Iain Rob Wright is a chilling tale that indeed starts off slow but gradually builds into a gripping narrative. The story follows best friends Ashley and Jude as they encounter a series of haunting and menacing events. Their bond and the challenges they face add depth to the story, making it increasingly engaging as it progresses. While it took some time to get into the of the plot as such, by the end, it was hard to put down. The horror elements are well-crafted, delivering a truly chilling experience. However, given the self-contained nature of the story, I am uncertain about continuing with the next installment, as this book stands strong on its own.
