Cannot wait for the 2nd book because this was marvelous *wink*

Even though the spell action is not explained elaborately (suddenly things are done) I can still enjoy the whole story.

This was a delight! I look forward to the next installment in the series. This was not a recommended audiobook, but the novel is delightful and the whole world is very engaging. I like the absolute diversity of the school, but noticed there were not many disabled students at the Marveller academy, sigh. One day disabled kids will be included too in magic academia, without it being forced or token.

Other than that small takeaway... marvelous read! This is probably in my top 5 for the year, maybe even top 3.

Honestly, the overabundance of a few root words kills it--nothing’s developed enough and the names of the Paragons are too simplistic.

THE MARVELLERS is such an exquisite, exciting read for magic lovers of all ages. The unique worldbuilding, inclusivity and diversity, complex history, and lovable characters made this an incredible story. I already feel that this series will be one for the history books, and I can't wait to read the rest of it!

My only possible quandary with this story is that I guessed every mystery element/plot twist as soon as they were introduced. While I'm not sure whether a middle-grade-aged reader may have or have not done the same, I would have maybe liked the mystery to be suspended for a little bit longer so that the payback at the end of the story would be greater for all readers. The climax, too, felt a little bit quick compared to the rest of the story.

Overall, such an incredible start to what I know will be a marvelous series!

This was a work of love by author Dhonielle Clayton. The worldbuilding is supremely lovely. I loved Ella and all the cast. Great for readers who want to sink into another world and experience magic and beautiful culture. I'm glad there will be more to come.
