This book of poetry shows how much McKibbens has gone through in her life. She is not a victim. She is a survivor. She doesn’t flinch from the difficult realities of the abuse, generational trauma, and mental illness she has experienced. She turns them instead into vivid and sometimes violently beautiful words.

Didn’t connect with any of the first few poems and it dealt with darker topics than I expected.
