Who loves who in this story? And who is betraying who? The tables turn until it becomes dizzying, like a centrifuge, separating out the base components of "love." Murdoch is so smart about the intricacies of human relationships, and this was a delight to read.

Once I got into this, I did enjoy it. There are no characters I liked enough to get behind, so I wasn’t really rooting for anyone. They are all pretty terrible, but the story is compelling.
