So I did enjoy this but I didn't love it. Lots of cool interesting things, some fun connections and overall a good time. I just wasn't as engaged with the romance or the characters as I would like. Part of that might be because of the YA aspect so take that with a grain of salt (since I am an adult and the book technically isn't targeted to me).

I just did not find it to be very captivating. It felt like there was just a lot of building up to the climax, which ended up not being that great. It felt rushed, it wasn’t exciting, and it was overall underwhelming. The story set up a lot of different conflicts and side plots, but none of them really amounted to anything or even mattered by the end of the book. The overall premise was brilliant, though. I just wish it’d been executed better. That being said, all of the characters were very realistic and well-developed. It was not a tedious read, either.
This book has very Romeo & Juliet undertones in terms of the romance, but the plot was more what you would find in a Rick Riordan Presents book.

Quick read but missed the mark a bit for me (funny pun, maybe?)
There were many pov’s, and I think the book would have been so much better if it had been slower with only the pov of Luna and hunter.
Because there is some form of magic, it is often hard to find out what is possible, and that was not really touched upon, another missed shot I guess.

This book tried way too hard so it ended up being confusing and felt flat. I liked how fast-paced it was.

I loved this book so much. The short chapters, the characters, the plot. My only reason why it isn’t a five star is because the romance to me felt in a way more of a brother sister relationship then romance.. over the course of the book that went away but it still lingered at the end.

4.5 stars. A really sweet, quick read. Not quite as amazing as The Astonishing Color of After, but very enjoyable all the same. The chapters were all very short and therefore I had a hard time putting this down, as it was easy to get through in quick bursts. Emily X R Pan continues to give me all the feels.
