Simple, effectively tense story.
Not knowing anything about baseball I was probably missing an extra layer that might have provided a deeper emotional connection to the book itself.

The first half of the book had me intrigued then it started to become mundane and repetitive.

My favorite Steven king novel by far, capturing horror and loss of mind despite no actual supernatural being. I loved every minute of this book, and while at first I despised the ending, I came to realize it had a sort of importance to it. I love it and reread it often, captivated by the words and slow deterioration of a main characters sanity.

The second half of the book had a much bigger impact on me than the first one. Story became interesting only after things got really bad adding some spice to it.

Stephen King is an amazing author, but this particular one didn’t hit my tastes. Mainly because it has soooo many baseball references and so much talk about baseball in general so with things like that it was hard to keep up. It was hard for me personally to get into and progress of the story/plot was slow, buuut I don’t regret reading it.
I love how genuinely scary in a more real world sense this book is. It’s not a scary clown, not a curse on a man to be thin, a guy losing gravity, or time travel. It’s just a little girl learning the world has teeth and bites.
