I would not recommend reading the Ladinsky translation as I did as it strips Hafez's words of their cultural context and oversimplifies. Ladinsky fails at the main goal of a translator: to accurately convey the original words in a way that is understandable to the new audience. I want to reread this in better translation after doing more research.
