My only regret is not reading this book sooner. I absolutely loved all the characters and the setting. Piper was a dynamic character who is a ruthless assassin but also has a heart of gold and loyal to those she cares about. Alec turned out to be such a great character too. He is incredibly powerful yet humble about it.

I wasn’t sure what to expect going into this one but the twists and turns and character reveals kept me hooked. I need the rest of the series!!

The first in a fantasy trilogy, this book follows Piper, a female assassin known for leaving the belladonna berries on her victims. When things go wrong with a new target, her personal and “professional” lives start to converge. Suddenly she has to help solve disappearances haunting the city and her own friends. The world building, characters, and plot twists that this book takes are so well done. For an assassin, the FMC is very likable and her banter with the MMC was great! I can’t wait for the second book.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author and Hazel’s Book Tours in exchange for a read and review. All opinions are my own.

I WANTED HIM TO KISS HER SO BAD OR HUG HER OR SOMETHING AT THE END! That is my only critique. Phenomenal book, great world building, fun characters.

The Sharp Edge of Fate is a thrilling fantasy novel that kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. The world-building in this book is incredible, and I found myself easily swept away into the city of Silversdale. The characters, especially Piper and Alec, are well-developed and complex, making them feel incredibly real. I loved the dynamic between the two of them and how their relationship evolved throughout the story.

TF Johnson's writing is engaging and pulls you in from the very first page. The plot is fast-paced and full of twists and turns that kept me guessing until the very end. I can't wait to see what happens next in the series and am eagerly anticipating the release of book two. If you're a fan of fantasy novels with strong world-building and compelling characters, then I highly recommend picking up The Sharp Edge of Fate. It's a must-read that you won't be able to put down.

I really, really enjoyed this book. It took a while to grow on me, but I think that’s just because as a non-fantasy reader, I’m not really this book’s intended audience. I loved the characters, I loved their banter and their relationship. It’s been a while since I read a series, but I need to know what happens. There were so many intriguing loose ends that I need the next book, stat.

 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - 5 Stars!

I had an absolute blast with this book!

The Sharp Edge of Fate is a fast paced, action packed and intricately woven industrial fantasy about an assassin known as the Belladonna, who is given a rush job that goes wrong. Piper is soon thrust into a search for her friend when she is abducted, and her target, a mage named Alec, is her only lead in finding her.

The banter between Piper and Alec was fantastic, I love a bit of good banter, and although there was no spice in this book, I can see the potential for some slooooow burn. Nothing wrong with a good lead up!

There was a bit of everything in this book - humor, banter, found family and mystery. Splash in some immortal beings, mages, magic, sinister creatures and a foe who you’ll be hoping meets a stabby end, The Sharp Edge of Fate is just the tip of a whole world that I’m sure we are just about to discover.

I can’t wait for the next installment! 🤩💖
