Overall, I enjoyed these short stories. There were a few that weren't to my liking. The only author who's books I'd read before was RL Stine, but now, I believe that I'll be looking into a few of the authors' other works.

I enjoyed a few of these stories in this collection, paid attention to a few others, and endured the rest.

So many of the mysteries in this collection were screamingly good, it gets my highest rating: 5 screams!

I didn't really understand the point of these stories: they all involved a box. But...what? Some of the stories were pretty good; some weren't. Most just confused me. And a couple were really spooky. I didn't really know any of the authors...yeah, so this was a bust. Too bad.

It's a book of short stories, some better than others.  I will say that they picked a great one to end with.  It is a Karen Slaughter story.  I've heard of her, never really had any interest in checking her out, but this book has definingly changed my mind.  It was pretty funny.

It is a pretty good mix with a lot of variety.  If you like short stories I'd recommend giving it a read, or if you want to try out a bunch of different authors at once.  I listened to the audiobook and it was well read with several narrators.

A few stories are okay, a few unreadable; the very last one made me laugh out loud while I listened to it on my walk!

As with many anthologies, there was a mix of quality here.

My high points:

-- Waco 1982 by Laura Lippman,
-- Heirloom by Joseph Finder,
-- The Secret Life of Books by Angela Gerst, and
-- The Birdhouse by Stephen Ross.

The rest of the stories were just okay. Not as many winners as most anthologies.
