I was disappointed in the ending of this book so if I have any recommendation it's that you don't read this book until the next one is out and you can read that one right away!

Oh Flavia. What a gem. It's been a while since I read one of these, and I enjoyed it even more than I remember.

I had learned long ago that if you don't take command, someone else will.

Never get you kidneys cold - cold kidneys is killer.

Standing on one's head stimulates not only the brain, but also the digestive system.

There's skullduggery at the crossroads. The plot is thickening and our services are craved.

Humidity and freezing air is conducive to clear thinking.

Who, really, am I? The person everyone thinks she is? Is she who I think she is?
We never know who we are until we become someone else.

Every single book in this series has been a pleasure. I'm sure I've said it before, but I'd be thrilled if any of my kids were like Flavia. Such a quirky, interesting, fun character. As always, she gets caught up in the death of someone she doesn't know, and manages to outsmart most of the adults in the novel by coming up with answers to clues they didn't even know they had.

for some reason I was not into this book as much as some of the others. I felt it was missing some quintessential "Favia"ness.

I don’t remember the exact dates I reread/listened, so this is approximation…it was early/mid December! Jayne Entwhistle is a great narrator
