Overall, The Blood Traitor, was a good wrap up to a pleasant series. This book focuses on forgiveness, love, found family, and growth. While it is a good book, it was likely my least favorite in the series. Some spoilers to follow: Character:
In this book you watch incredible growth of two characters: Kiva and Cresta. Kiva grows from a naive girl into a young woman as she battles addiction, grief, forgiveness, and learns to love herself. While Kiva is the main character making growth inevitable, Cresta transforms from an obvious Villain to the hero no one through they would need. Cresta faces her greatest fear: love. She grows to love and fight for those around her culminating in an epic battle no one could have seen coming.

Plot:
I will say this book left some plot points open. The biggest one being the queens addiction and abuse. It felt glossed over and like a side plot point to make other things happen such as Kiva getting the amulet and Jaren’s fear of drugs. It felt half written as if some of the story was yet to be told.

Overall, this book felt the most “young adult” due to its
happy ending and everyone getting to live out their dreams
. While good, this book lacked a certain amount of complexity.
