I wanted to like this - I really liked the concept for the anthology, which is why I picked it up in the first place. A group of people trying to find connection during a time where connection is not safe. I can get behind that.

Unfortunately, what I found was simply just not that good. There were a handful of gems, which upon further investigation were written by professional writers and poets, but for the most part, while I appreciated the sentiment behind these poems they just weren’t very well written. I feel bad saying that because I do believe they have value in the message they portray, which is why I’ve given this collection 3 stars rather than 2.

But ultimately, if you enjoy poetry and you enjoy reading high quality poetry, you likely won’t find what you’re looking for here.

Honourable mention to “lullabied fraction” by Preeti Kaur Dhaliwal, which was my favourite in the collection and a very well-written piece.
