Too scholarly for my mood right now. Will probably revisit later.

If you're a fan of Poe you should read this.

There's things I definitely didn't know that I know now. And they are shocking!

This was very interesting and informative, but sometimes got confusing in the audiobook when it jumped back and forth in Poe’s timeline

As interesting as Poe's life was, this audiobook manages to make it an 11-hour monotonous drag. Maybe the physical book would have been a better choice for this book. The narrator kills this for me. It's like listening to the narrator from your middle school film stips...for 11 hours.

I did, however, learn quite a bit about Poe that I didn't know before, so that is something. It's well researched and gives real personality to the man we remember (incorrectly) as the somber melancholy poet.

Didn’t capture my attention enough for me to care how it ends. Was taking too long to read. I wish the time line was linear and more of a narrative
