This books gotten a bit of hate from what I see on Goodreads, but honestly...this is definitely not the first Warriors book to have errors in it, I’ve seen plenty. And while I do find that sort of unacceptable for professional publishing like this, I do concede that the series has a looootttt of characters, even ones barely mentioned.

Anyway, this is an enjoyable read (and this is actually after a re-read). It was cool to see a follow up after the Great Battle/have a book sort of in between before jumping right into the next arc. Bramblestar had huge paws to fill and struggles with finding his identity as a leader, which I understood and empathized with.

I am really glad Squirrelflight and Bramblestar are back together as well, but I feel like it was too easy for her. But at the same time I did *not* want Jessy with Bramblestar.

I stopped reading Warrior Cats quite some time ago, but when I saw this book I had to pick it up. I always found Bramblestars story to be rather interesting and I loved some of the other characters, e.g. Ivypool or Lionblaze... Let's just say the book wasn't at all. The whole storyline was boring and predictable and the only positive thing was seeing some of the old characters again, but for me that didn't save the book.

this was a really weird book to explain the events mentioned in AVOS and as far as I know is the only book where the events actually get mentioned later on (the flood, stormcloud) but Bramblestar was really bland and his “love” with jessy was really fucking weird
