What starts out as an ordinary day turns to something out of The Twilight Zone when bus driver Terrance realizes that every teacher and all but one student have disappeared from the school in town. With the aid of the remaining child, Terrance sets out on a journey for answers, and what he finds is chilling.

When I started reading Children of the Future, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was no let down. Full of mystery and intrigue, this is a real page turner, mostly because I haven’t read anything like it before. The conclusion of the story was imaginative, and I loved it.

The writing style is easy to follow and the characters are written in a believable way. This is one of those books that leave you thinking after you’ve turned the last page.

Recommended for fans of mystery and thriller.

Children of the Future

Children of the Future by Jane Suen is a compelling novel from start to finish. Trust me, once you start… you will not be able to put it down!! It has you trying to guess what will happen next. It will have you sitting on the edge of your seat, wanting more!
It tells a story about 25 missing children, who were kidnapped at school. Telly is the young man who will stop at nothing to find out what happened to them! It’s kind of frightening to think about that… these days. it’s such a scary world we live in these days!
Such a gripping story! Great job, Jane! I can’t wait to see where your next book will take us!!

I have become a fan of Jane Suen, as her stories always keep you guessing and reading on. Children of the Future was not my favorite of hers, but I still enjoyed it. Seeing its her debut novel, I can attest her writing has evolved immensely since then, and I recommend others to try her other novels as well. I didn't realize it was geared towards young adults or tweens, but that makes sense. It wasn't quite as suspense filled as I would have expected, given the circumstances. But for a child novel, I think it gets the point across, without enticing fear. I like the underlying rational of the story, which was not revealed until the end. It really makes you think, and I now can see how it is directed at our youth. I wont say too much more on that, because I don't want to ruin the surprise.
The story takes place in a little town called Rocky Flats, and is focused around the bus driver, Telly. He pulls up to the school at the end of the day, but after the last bell, no children come out. He parks and goes inside to investigate, and find no children, no teachers, no signs of anything. Its as if they vanished. Until he hears a noise, and finds 1 little boy hiding in the cabinet of his classroom. Together Telly and Billy, along with the rest of the townsfolk, search for the missing children and try to solve the mystery of where they went, who took them, and why.

Children of the Future by Jane Suen is a short, mystery story. Telly is the school bus driver and finds that all the children except for one have gone missing from the school. Will Telly figure out what happened?
This is a quick read which doesn't give away the crux of the story until the end. The story is written very simply and would make a good read for a younger reader as well as adult readers. I liked Telly and Billy but felt there was something missing from some of the other characters. I did not feel like their reactions were relatable to the news the children have gone missing. Overall, I enjoyed this story and like the story was told in the manner it was told. Everything worked together well.

Children of the future by Jane Suen is the first book that I have read by this Author and I thought it was a good book and even though it was a fast read I was not disappointed. Children of the Future is a short, mysterious read. This read kept me guessing on what was going to happen next. I loved everything about Telly and how involved he was. He was really concerned for the missing children. I would recommend this book for Teens its short enough to keep them interested and I think they will really enjoy this read. All and all this book was a really good read I like how it was a different story line then what I usually read and I look forward to reading more books by Jane Suen.

Children of the Future by Jane Suen
4 Stars!!!!

This is the third book from this author that I have read. I find that the author's writing style is
refreshing. The genre of this book is out of my comfort genre but I found it to be quite an addicting read. The suspense and mystery really kept me glued to the pages. I don't read mysteries often but this was a nice change.

I really love Telly's character and the part he played in the story. The way he cares for the kids is really endearing. I was really at the end of my seat as the drama and mystery played out. I found that the author had a great way of drawing out the story and the intrigue. I really enjoyed this book and would definitely be reading more from this author in the Future.

Children of the Future
By Jane Suen

I have read all of the books by this author and I love that I never know what is going to happen in her stories. They are always completely different to anything else I have ever read. I loved the mystery and suspense of this story – just what had happened to everyone in that school? The book is a fairly short read so the action starts straight away. I think it was pretty obvious that the children were important to Telly and he wanted to see them safe. There were few twists in the story too especially at the end!
If you are a fan of stories that are a little different, that make you think and stories that don’t go the way you expect then I definitely recommend Jane Suen as an author. Her books are a short read but really well written.

This story is a great story for children and adults alike. Jane Suen writing is amazing. She can hold the attention of child and adult alike. We all need to believe in something when a crisis strikes and when the little school children and three teachers go missing is a time to believe, The little town of Rocky Flats is amazed when the bus driver, Telly arrives and finds the students gone panic broken out. Telly started to search the school and in one room hiding is Billy. Billy is the only student left behind. Telly and Billy started to search for the students and missing teachers. I really do not want to go into too much detail of the story because I do not want to ruin it for any one.

Children of the Future by Jane Suen is a Young-Adult book. This is not my first book by this author but it ranks at the top of her books for me. I know what I am getting when I pick up one of her books. She takes me on a journey that is mysterious and different then I am use to. This book is about a group of children that come up missing. The school bus driver, Telly, is the one who discovers that the children are missing. While searching the school, he comes across one little boy, Billy. Will they be able to find the children before it is too late? Telly is a twenty-seven year old who has no children of his own but hopes some day. He is a strong character that is friendly and dedicated. The secondary characters in this book are supportive and make the story flow. This is a short, sweet, mystery that will keep you wondering what is going to happen next. I highly recommend this book. I read it in one sitting and I think you will too. Will Telly be able to find the children in time?

This is a simple mystery. A story that keeps the reader guessing as to what happened, what was going to happened and why something like this actually happened. The moral of this story could happen in any town in any city at any school and is every parent’s worst nightmare.

The story is written in simple terms mostly from the main character’s point of view. Telly, the main character, is a bus driver who has found that the children he must drive to school and home, have all disappeared. And thus begins the hunt for the missing children and their teachers.

I have read other books by Suen and this one left me felling like I had missed something. It wasn’t a bad story just one that I felt wasn’t finished. Then I started talking to my daughter about this story to see what I had missed and OMG the ending! It’s like a light bulb came on! I strongly encourage others to give Jane Suen a try, including this book.
