WHEW ok!!!! i thought this was very successfully depressing & searing & awful, though not as shining-shimmering unique as Sadie, which might’ve been a once-in-a-lifetime experience for me (read the audio on a walk during a midsummer thunderstorm & finished by evening candlelight. you just can’t beat Sadie by thunderstorm & candlelight). 

regardless this did work on me -- especially georgia, who i found deeply realistic, unfortunately :) thought the pacing was a little quick near the end, but c'est la vie. rooting for my girlies here and everywhere!

This book was really good but in a way that made me wish I hadn’t read it. Georgia is a queer teenager discovering for the first time how to wield her sexuality to get what she wants from men. The reader gets to look on in abject horror as Georgia walks right into the gaping mouth of a trap set just for her before she realizes the kind of power she has over men isn’t empowering at all. Massive trigger warnings, especially for sexual assault.

I think this book's description is misleading. The mystery is a subplot and if I knew what this book was really about I likely wouldn't have read it--it's very heavy in terms of subject matter. I felt lost the whole time and honestly didn't really get the end?
