Very cute read, really quick. Not a coming out story (in a good way) and had enough plot changes that kept it interesting

A series of events that would never, ever happen in an American high school.

This book even though I feel was marketed as a romcom is definitely way more than that, yeah it does revolve about how the plans for how Sky was going to ask a guy for prom were made public, it is more about how that act was an act of hate and homophobia and how he dealt with it and the people who supported him along the way, and a little bit about the people who didn’t.
The thing I love the most about YA and queer YA specially, is that even when the book is dealing with some heavy issues and in this case he does feel hopeless and without purpose for bit, there’s still this hope, this joy, this love, maybe not from the adults that are supposed to but from the family you found along the way.
Yes, this book is about romance but above all is about family, love and friends, and acceptance
I listened to the audiobook and it was amazing, sometimes i have a hard time liking guys doing female voices and here he did an amazing job.

4.75 stars!!
I'm gay for Sky, Ali, Bree, Marshall, Teddy, Dan, Mrs. Winter, Charlie and "Franch Fries"!

This book is amazing! I loved it, the plot was amazing, the characters was amazing. AMAZING! A lovely story about a gay boy in a small town who suddenly got outed, this is so scary! But how everyone handled the situation was really great!
Even though the book was truly amazing there was some stuff that just didn't click with me and I simply can't point my finger to it! I would totally read this one again.

Even though Sky came out as gay, and is openly accepted by his friends, he still doesn’t feel comfortable being himself, monitoring the way he walks, dresses, talks, and acts as to not be “too gay” and upset the small town community. But this is Sky’s senior year, and he has decided to put it all on the line and “prompose” to Ali, his ultimate crush. Everything comes crushing down when a homophobic and racist email spreads through the school community attacking Sky and Ali. When Sky wants to hide, his community of friends (and friends he didn’t know he had) encourage Sky to stand up to the bully and let the world know no one can make him ashamed of being himself. This is a new, raw, and honest perspective I have yet to read about what it’s really like to be LGBTQ+.

I'm crying. It's so good. I'm literally sobbing.

A quick and easy read with a powerful message of being true to yourself no matter what, plus I’m always a sucker for a book set in my home state. The characters were flawed and real, the plot was engaging and the resolution was everything you could hope for. Yes, there were tears, but mostly of the happy variety this time so that’s a win :) I honestly think the only thing keeping this from a full 5 stars is the somewhat ham-fisted inclusion of teen speak, slang and cultural references that will outdate this book in about a minute and a half. And there was some pretty iffy editing that will always make me twitchy. It’s not a big thing, but for me it took away from what was otherwise a beautiful story.
