The mystery continues in Act Two. The suspense builds as Magnolia starts to dig into her fathers mysterious disappearance. Once again Magnolia stumbles across a dead body. She has two men helping her, but who can she trust? Ready to begin book three!

This book does a phenomenal job of leading readers down several possible paths in unwinding the events that led to Magnolia Steele’s departure from Franklin, TN after her high school graduation. I definitely recommend reading the first book to get more background before continuing with the second book. You’ll be hooked by the relationships that Magnolia has, both romantic and platonic. You’ll fly through this story, anxious to solve the puzzles within the series.

Wow. Just wow. If you are one that likes neatly wrapped up puzzles, move on. This mystery is so full of secrets and unanswered questions and possibilities and intrigue that it's hard to catch my breath! The disappearance of Magnolia Steele's father 14 years ago is still haunting her. The police closed the case with simple answers that just don't ring true. But someone doesn't want her digging into the past....

Brilliant! You know this was just one of those in between books that is getting you set for what's to come... it opened a lot of questions and built on relationships. It was a great second novel!

This series is going to be great!!! Another brilliant book/series from Denise. She is by far on of my favourite authors ever!!!

Magnolia is a character I love, she guards her secrets so closely. Things are better left in the past is a key phrase in this book, one which magnolia completely ignores but the truth needs to become discovered right? I cannot wait to find out the real truth behind what happen to her on her prom night or the full story behind her daddy's disappearance. You always question who she can trust, I think Brady is one age can trust I hope!!!!

** MUST READ **

Magnolia Steele pulling at the threads of her father's disappearance despite receiving warnings from pretty much everyone to let sleeping dogs lie. The bad guy(s) are tying up loose ends and everyone she talks to about her father is showing up dead.

But she continues her investigation in what might be described as pluck...though personally I'm leaning towards 'too stupid to live'.

With corrupt police and pretty much everyone hiding things she can't turn to anyone for help.

When Denise Grover Swank is on her game she's one of my favorite authors. But some of her books don't quite cut it....and I don't even know why. Everything is right about them. They're well written with interesting characters and a good premise but for some reason they don't quite work.

That's this book. It's good enough that I'll give the next in the series a go, but in the back of my mind is the hope that this is a short series.

Ah! Loved the first book and this one is even better. Magnolia just can't seem to stay out of trouble. I so love Cole but there's something about him that worries me. And Brady...love love him.

Great story. Fast paced read. Non stop action. Such a great book.

I listened to all four books in this series back to back in less than three days, so it's pretty clear I enjoyed them.  Something about southern accents on a rainy summer day just works. It's difficult to rate them individually because characters and plot are on-going and each book ends with cliff-hangers. Not a fan of cliff-hangers. Got to know the characters pretty well, but a couple of them had good guy/bad guy/no, back to good guy switches that didn't work for me.  By the end of the fourth book I was on character overload.  Too many peripherals pulled in to tie things up.  Would like to read more by this author, but I'll be very careful about the commitment if I decide to start another series.
