The newest version (2017) is a great introduction to how we can think about phonics instruction, some games and activities to do with kids (beyond worksheets!), and some strategies to problem-solve reading issues. It doesn’t go into huge detail, which made it really useful to me as a beginner, but may not be as useful to those who already know the basics of linguistics and phonetics.
