Several trigger warnings here that you should probably look up if you have certain triggers, as is usually the case with these dark thrillers. Anyways, this was a great thriller to give me a break from all the rom-com books I’ve been reading! Story is about two women, Alix and Josie, who are birthday twins. Their relationship starts when they accidentally meet while celebrating their respective 45th birthday at a restaurant. Alix makes podcasts about women who have overcome their struggles and eventually Josie becomes enamored with Alix and wants a podcast episode to be done on her life and struggles. But the podcast quickly turns into a true crime podcast as Josie reveals more and more about who she is… Overall, riveting and gripping plot. Lots of twists and turns. I thoroughly enjoyed the additions of the podcasts excerpts sprinkled throughout the book - it gave the reader a nice break. You do get both POV from Alix and Josie so you can get in both of their heads. I’m rating it a 4 star because the story was good, but I didn’t agree with how Josie’s and her husband’s relationship was portrayed… you’ll understand when you read it. 4/5
