Another diet book that claims to not be a diet book. This one is for vegans.

If you've read Eat to Live, you know this book. It preaches a nutrient rich eating style that is full of greens and beans, while being low on animal based foods. It makes so much sense.

This book had good information, but it was way too scientific for me. The last third of the book contains the information that actually interested me. I enjoyed reading that part of the book, but the rest was tough for me to get through.

This book can be very technical at times, and a little repetitive too. Nonetheless, I think its content is extremely valuable. It's worth reading because it may change one's food addiction vicious cycle. I do believe optimal health is possible through eating natural/fresh ingredients, so I recommend this book for anyone who is interested in learning how to eat healthy, and not just lose weight.

Biased reader of Fuhrman as he cares a lot about science and seems to really care about people as well. This is more info-mercially than his other books, though, which for me is a downside.... I don't care about anecdotes.

The concept is that we need to eat the things that have nutritional value which is mostly vegetables, beans, and fruit. A lot of these diet books are starting to make sense as a whole, the thing that remains to be seen is whether I can implement the concepts. Staying away from processed food is especially difficult.

Another excellent overview of health from Dr. Fuhrman. I especially like the inclusion of "no time to cook" meal plans for busy families.

Overall I found the information very interesting. The studies and science Dr. Fuhrman sites makes for very compelling arguments to eat a more natural, unprocessed diet. He makes some inaccurate statements about paleo diets claiming that they promote meat heavy meals. Some versions may but others advocate a vegetable heavy diet with some animal products that come from healthily raised animals.

All in all, less (or no) processed foods make for a healthier person.
