One of the funniest book I've read in a while with one of the absurd plot ever. Honestly, I didn't know what "wet works" meant too before reading this book. It was a struggle at first to read the academia parts of the story, but it got better as the story progressed along. At first, I thought it was fun and silly to wreck vengeance against Olivia's exes, but once I learnt her experience with those awful people, I kinda wanted her and Margaret to do the worst to them. I loved learning about Bushrangers and their history, which was explored in the story. Most of all, it was nice to read a story where two characters fall in love with each other after going through so many hardships on their own. I also loved all the characters from the book club and the way they discussed everything else other than the book they were supposed to discuss each week.

Lee Winter is one of my absolute favorite sapphic romance authors. I was a little worried what I would think of this departure from her normal subgenre, to more of a romcom. Honestly I wasn't planning on reading this, but I was suddenly in the mood for romance novels that take place in Australia (thank you, Deadloch and Kate Box <3) and also felt ready for something more lighthearted due to terrible things happening in my real life.

So! I bought this one. I have to say, it took me a while to really feel the chemistry and attraction between these two characters. I loved Olivia, but somehow I felt like I wasn't drawn into her and Margaret's relationship like I had hoped/expected. But there was a scene around the halfway point during one of their vengeance schemes (those who have read it may know which part I mean) that made me take a hard turn into loving the two of them together with my entire being.

While I wouldn't say this is my favorite Lee Winter book, it is certainly up there. It was exactly the comedic, romantic read I needed at the time, and once I hit that point halfway through, I was all in. I really hope Lee Winter writes more romcoms! I would love to see more!

This is one of the best sapphic romances I have read. I love a romance where the characters become close friends before the romance starts in earnest, and this was perfect. I also loved just how funny this book was! And they listened to Otyken!

Loved it! I think this just beat the awkward truth as my favorite of Lee Winter. Hilarious book and I love the characters and the way they interact.
