This was an interesting book. A tragic ending would have been better.

Fascinating to read a classic from another culture. This was lent to me by my Bengali friend and it was an intruiging look into another time and place.

Deals with complexity of human nature. This is the most humane story ever....Destiny, friendship, love, jealousy, pain, voidness. We and our emotions - what a latitude it can reach! The story hits hard when one realizes how tender human relationships are and the great deal of love and care they require. No wonder only Tagore could weave this masterpiece
