Love this poetry collection about an entire school year. Kids will find themselves within the pages of this book. Love Patrice Barton's illustrations.

"Did You Hear What I Heard?" by Kay Winters is a funny and relatable book of poems. Some of my favorite poems were "After School" and "Hoping." Each of the poems captures a different part of the school day so well, even adults will find some of them funny. This is a book that could be used so easily in the classroom and not just for a poetry unit!

Solid collection of poems about school although some are only loosely connected to the theme, the illustrations are fun.

Over 30 poems fill this colorful collection – all about bus rides, fire drills, recess, field trips, tests, and teachers. Stylistically, the poems range from structured stanzas to free verse to singsong rhymes. Bright and playful illustrations make this collection suitable for younger students and perfect for classroom read-alouds or as a starting point for students to write their own school-themed poems.
