Bizarre Mash-Up Somehow Pays Off.

Archie Vs Predator exists somewhere between the never-changing Archie house style and the dark, EC-reminiscent horror of the Afterlife With Archie series. It's drawn in the same cheerful, simple artwork that long-time fans of Archie know and love, but it's also blood-spattered and grotesque. And, somehow, that works. A note on the character design sketches included as bonus material says that the cuter they made the Predator's design, the more horrifying it became – and that pays off big-time by the end of the book. Archie Vs Predator is funny, violent, and disturbing, and works much better than such an idea should.

This was everything I was hoping for, & more than I expected. Scratches a certain trashy itch, especially at 2am. I liked the Mecha-Dilton. Doesn't make me wish for more Archie comics, but I'd totally read a Sabrina meets Elric comic.

A fun, unexpected little read. As soon as I heard about this, I knew that I had to read it. Very weird.

Amusing enough, and more enjoyable than when the gang met KISS. Of course, Betty Vs. Ronnie gets a little old, but the ending plays with it a bit. There's some pleasant gore. The Blossom twins get eviscerated. Lots of spines ripped out. Some nice words from Ronnie at the end.

And then the end itself. Which was fairly fucked up. I went from thinking this was an amusing gory trifle to being a bit impressed with wack ending.
