always been a turtleshead but realized i never read any of the comics sometime last year, so i went and read the first two volumes of the mirage run, very great, so many vibrant amazing ideas and you never know what's gonna happen next.   I found this to be a very good middle ground between all the modes the mirage stuff played in, the cosmic, the spiritual, the mutant, the grounded street level ninja stuff.  The writing is very compelling and the art is great. Its in color! And the colors are simply incredible too.  The dialogue is great, they actually feel like real teenagers too.

A really smooth path to entry for Turtles fandom, which is welcome when contrasted with so many other long-standing properties that have many, often-conflicting, "ways to start." That said, even with a good start, it's still at times too clearly a serial floppy, in ways that prevent the story from being nearly as good as it could be. Fine art but not breathtaking. 3.5 rounded down because nothing pushes it up.

Tremendo.

This was really good, actually! I've always liked the Turtles as a kid. Played the games, watched the cartoon (animated and live action), had some toys, but never got to reading the comics. This new take on their origin was super fun and way deeper and mature than I thought it would be. All that accompanied by great art makes me decide to give it 4/5 stars!
