Fairly academic. The author's argument is well-made, and I learned so many things that should have been covered in U.S. history courses.
Moderate: Racial slurs, Death, Gun violence, Sexual assault, War, Confinement, Hate crime, Genocide, Blood, Child abuse, Colonisation, and Racism
Minor: Police brutality, Mass/school shootings, Slavery, Animal death, Torture, Trafficking, Domestic abuse, Alcoholism, Rape, and Violence

Graphic: Genocide, Racism, Religious bigotry, and Xenophobia
Moderate: Blood, Child death, Confinement, Death, Domestic abuse, Emotional abuse, Forced institutionalization, Gore, Grief, Kidnapping, Medical trauma, Murder, Physical abuse, Sexual violence, Slavery, and Torture
This book covers the history of indigenous peoples and the systematic genocide perpetrated against them. It covers a lot of triggering content, but it does not glorify or linger on it.
