Really? First time having sex, smart enough to use a condom, and she's pregnant? And knows it right away? And then him, pushing his way in, and moving in with her? And they'd barely talked before that?

Really?

At least it was a quick read.

Bride by Mistake by Nicole Helm was a sweet story. Kaitlin has disliked Beckett all her life because she was attracted to him, but he didn't fit her idea of what she should want, so she did everything she could to push him away. Beckett was always the bad boy, so he has always felt like he wasn't good enough for anyone, especially Kaitlin. Well, one night together results in a lifetime tie and brings out old insecurities for Beckett. I have to say I enjoyed how real these characters were. Their lives were messy and their reactions were complex yet I could see myself or a friend reacting in a similar manner in their situation. I give this book 4.5 stars and definitely recommend this book. This is a great addition to the Montana Born Brides series and I look forward to more from both this series and this author. Note: I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Sometimes the bad boy is a better choice.

Kaitlin's heart is broken because the man of her dreams is marrying her sister. Not her.

Beckett is her brother's best friend and a man who has been running from his own demons. But he is there when Kaitlin needs a shoulder to cry on. And the crying leads to something more. Jump to several weeks later when Kaitlin realizes there is a gift from her evening with Beckett and the romance heats up.

There is the usual brother thinking that Beckett and his demons is not good enough for his sister plus Kaitlin's need to grow up some. But there is an underlying spark between Kaitlin and Beckett. The question is can they make it work?

Full disclosure - I was provided with a copy of the novel in exchange for an honest review.

Kaitlin has spent most her life in love with Carter and he loves her sister and she is just ready to be over the wedding and see where life goes. She has decided that she is sick of living what everyone else wants and she is ready to make some changes. Beckett has been known as the bad boy for so long and he is so over it. He comes face to face with the last person he ever thought he would have to deal with his biggest fantasy come to life.
This book is a quick simple and fun read packed with lots of ups and a few (good) downs but downs that keep you guessing and wanting to find out what is going to happen. This is a book full of chemistry from the begging to the end and leaves you wanting just a little more. Its also a fun book from Marietta Montana where you find your self visiting from pervious book that really having you coming back for more.

Cute short read

Well written. Cute story with the common one-night stand turned surprise pregnancy, but well executed. A nice short read for a relaxing afternoon

It Just...Ends

Okay I'll buy that they fell in love because they have a really long history together. But they do the grand romantic gesture and the book is just over. No epilogue to say how it all worked out, no anything...it just ends. The story was too short and too rushed and we only really received a hint of the resolutions to the plot and subplots presented in the story. Like we know it could work out, there's a chance that this is really an HEA but you don't get anything after the gesture to really know for sure. It's a good story but it just feels like it needs more.

Reading the first two chapters I thought this was fairly good and thought it was a promising start. We've read this story about the Bad Boy and the Good Girl before, and you are rarely surprised. Since you sort of know what you get beforehand it also hard to be disappointed.

Well, I was surprised and not in a good way either. I was disappointed because halfway through the story ended and a new began. I don't mind a 2 for 1 deal. That's not the problem here. I hate reading stories with out reading a blurb first. I like to know what direction the story will head. But that's not the real problem either.

The main reason for my disappointment was that some of the main issues were not resolved before the end.
SpoilerWhat happened to Kaitlin's obsessively pleasing streak towards her family? How did they react to her marrying Beckett. Did they know she was pregnant? And mostly, why wasn't the theft resolved? I wanted Beckett to be cleared, not only receiving a mumbled apology and a maybe promise/offer to get back into business with Luke. I did not like the resolution of the differencies between Kaitlin and Beckett. There was no real conflict apart from their personal issues but I didn't feel like those were addressed and solved properly. In the end I didn't really see why Beckett acted the way he did and he didn't express that to Kaitlin either. She on the other hand was stuck in her self and ended up rambling a lot of nonsense that some how resolved their problems and they were happy in lala-land.

I didn't experience any chemistry between Kaitlin and Beckett. I felt the execution could have been better especially after he moved to Marietta. We were told he wooed her by taking care of her even if she didn't want to. How exactly was this done? I have no idea. The author newer showed it to us.

So in all this was a big disappointment. The first part of the first story bumped the rating up to a whopping 2 stars!

I really didn't like this book. The love story was absolutely forced: Beckett apparently loved Kaitlin since they were really young so having an unplanned pregnancy wasn't a problem; they didn't even get along before they decided to sleep together. Kaitlin was "in love" with a guy since she was in third grade, but all of the sudden she got over that and fell in love with Beckett?

Beckett was unbelievably selfish by pushing Kaitlin to decide whether or not she loved him.

Kaitlin's character was dumb: she believed that she could control everything in her life, and became an utter mess the second something went wrong. She is described as "wanting to stomp her feet and scream" and "becoming a new woman because of riding a motorcycle". She also said that "Men were supposed to want sex" and it made me very uncomfortable.

The author's word choice in regards to describing the pregnancy—the mistake, the issue, "this"—was very terrible and the plot didn't make sense.

This was a good story.

I liked the romance. The premise. Bad boy, good girl. Fun story. It moved pleasantly at the beginning and then did speed way up at the end. I was hoping for a little more and an epilogue too, but it was a satisfying ending.

There were quite a few editing mistakes.
