I am really glad I read this book. I am intimidated by Karl Marx's writing because it is intense, old, all over the place, and also new conceptually to me, so I really appreciated Callinicos' summary and explanation of Marx's writing. I also appreciated how Callinicos puts Marx's ideas into a historical and social context. Something I liked the most about this book is that it engages with modern criticisms of Marxism as well. I learned a lot and recommend it to anyone who wants to understand Marx more.
