Ahhhh when is the third book going to be ready?? So interesting getting into the politics and then a whole bunch of stuff I didn't expect--but enjoyed because it wasn't predictable, except for one lucky thing--happened and I need to know how the story ends!
That was so disappointing.
I enjoyed the first book enough that I was excited to read this one. The whole thing was pointless filler. Tessa was annoyingly wishy washy. Corrick acted like a spoiled brat most of the book. I stopped caring about all of these characters and just wanted the book to end.

- I finished this book at midnight last night and have no idea what to do with myself now
- That ending was insane lol, MAJOR cliff-hanger ending. I think once I started the last 100 pages I couldn't put the book down because there was so much going, and I just had to know what happens next!
- Corrick and Tessa's relationship was kind of painful to watch in this book lol. I felt like they'd taken a step back in their relationship, and it was definitely more complicated because of all the politics that were involved
- Really enjoyed that we got to see more Harristan and Quint because I honestly love them! Not going to lie, I'm shipping the two of them together 100% lol
- This book felt more political than the last one, so at points it was a bit slow since the storyline for moving forward was being set up
- The addition of Captain Blakemore into the mix made the story a bit of a love triangle, and definitely threw a wrench into everything. That being said, the new plot that he introduced was also super interesting!
- I thought this book was amazing and I don't know how I'm going to be able to wait until the next one comes out! I just want to keep reading and not let these characters and this story go!

The back and forth between corrick and the captain was annoying, having Tessa be a prize for them was annoying and the lack of communication was boring. It’s also annoying to see Tessa acting like she doesn’t know corrick is corrick, like she didn’t have half the last book to figure it out.
Also the voice of the king had a HORRENDOUSLY prevalent lisp and it was so distracting and hard to understand. Pls fix.
