This series is so refreshing because it doesn't focus on Faith's body, it just focuses on Faith. Faith is just a girl that happens to have superpowers trying to navigate Los Angeles. She's trying to find herself, find friends, figure out the complications of dating, and well...balancing all of that with saving the world (or just Los Angeles, whatevs). It makes for fun, light reading. But on occasion it can get a little deep.

I really like Faith, as a comic series and as a superhero. This is a great start to her new ongoing series and I'm so excited to read more. Jody Houser is a great writer, she writes such a grounded character, Faith's little nerd references feel organic and are a nice touch. The art team is equally amazing; look I'm biased because I LOVE Marguerite Sauvage's art, her flashback/fantasy sequences are such a treat. The only thing I didn't like were all the "con tips" during the convention story arc. They were fine, but a bit unnecessary, it felt a bit distracting from the story, but I can deal with it when the rest of the comic is just such a blast.

I love everything about this book, including that Convention Tips that Faith has (all of which hold water, by the way), but the stories seem a little too cliche. Waiting until the next one to see if any new ground is broken by this lovably large hero!

This comic is a lot of fun! And like with the first volume, I feel represented by Faith in a way I've never felt represented in superhero comics before, seeing a body that looks like mine. More body diversity in superhero comics, please!

Better than #1! When the geeky references are a garnish, it's great. When they're the whole meal, not so much. The second story in this volume was fun and clever, and felt familiar but managed to surprise me. I'm happy I gave this important character another shot.

Faith remains a truly awesome comic. I love the nerdy commentary, and the story lines are fantastic. Can't wait for more!
