Marguerite really dives deep into the cause of our being in this comic series, because the wake kind of forced everyone to do just that, before religions that gave most people purpose were there to serve man lead him and only him and give him answers that were enough for him to not think further.
after the wake when every creature on earth became sentient, the old gods can't really serve the new needs of the new world anymore, and hence the big question for humans and animals alike, why are we here? What is our purpose?
And Marguerite gives some pretty nice answers, take your pick.
Jesse is saved, she has a heart to heart with sandor each keeping quite a few things to him/herself still.
It feels next two issues will be big because they are numbered parts.
