I am an avid Kathy Reichs fan and this is a great book. It focuses on motorcycle clubs in Montreal Canada and those who have lost their lives during a war between clubs. Kathy does a great job in making sure her readers understand the jargon and process of investing death and bones.

The only reason this book is 4 stars is due to the last 100 pages, I flew through them, they had me on the edge in my seat and flipping the pages as quick as I could.

The rest of the story felt slightly sluggish. There was a lot of information that I feel I didn’t completely understand and I was completely confused by trying to remember which biker gang was connected to which.

Overall a good third instalment to the Bones series which has left me with hopes and unanswered questions going into book 4.

I just absolutely love Tempy Brennan as a protagonist. I really feel connected to her quirky, smarty-pants personality as well as her drive and passion for doing the right thing. The plot and antagonist in this third book was unique, however we are only 3 books into the series and I’m starting to worry that Brennan is going to run out of friends and family that she can or cannot “save”. Although plot lines and villains in the first 3/4 of each book have been pretty unique thus far I’m a little disappointed in how predictable and similar the final 1/4 of all 3 of these have been. I’m hopeful that Reichs will leave the pattern behind for book four but we shall see. Also, I’m stating this now, if anything ever happens to Birdie I will probably not be able to continue the series. He is hands down the best character of all.
