I would've liked for Dick to directly apologize to the workers for the things he said to them, but otherwise I really liked this! A fun a mysterious one-off about Dick's time in the circus and someone he meets and befriends. It took me off guard a bit that he was a teenager--as far as I know from canon, he was around eight when he went to live with Bruce--but nonetheless I had a good time. Live laugh love Dick Grayson.

A bit rushed at the end. A loyalty of build up for a rapid end. Meh...

This is the best Dick Grayson story I have read in a very, very, very long time. Seriously, I think my heart grew three sizes. An utter delight.

Foolish characters do foolish things to spark an artificial conflict. Characters refuse to communicate to create a false sense of mystery. The bald guy (spoilers) like he always does. The art was serviceable but the coloring was beyond dull. This book was foot water.

The art is definitely the standout in this, I was expecting something different for some reason but it was fun as an alternate universes story! I wish that had been a little more explicit, the back cover definitely reads as a pre-cursor thing, but again, still very fun. Ultimately, though, other than the odd marketing I loved this to bits. The characterization was again the strongest part, as it usually is in these, and the tone shift between the different areas, using colour as the delineator, made things look so beautiful. This is one I would definitely recommend, but only if you're not super attached to mythos.

Cover Art is 10’s across the board A++++++!

The story is very cute! I do love a little dip into the past of Dick Grayson.

I can not get over how brilliant the art is, a different colour theme for each part they’re in with Haly being in cool tones and the last circus being in warm tones. Genius!

I pick half the comic books I want to read by judging them by its cover, and this one had such gorgeous art deco art on it. Turns out there wasn't much art deco art inside the book, only a sort of story link to the 1930's. Thankfully the story was great anyway, and I wish superhero comics were generally more character-driven like this one.

This is a prequel story about Dick Grayson, aka Robin, before he ever met Batman. It's first love, coming-of-age, mystery and magic. I enjoyed the story and the art, and it's cool how the limited color palette is used to emphasize which world we're following at the moment.
