This is a GREAT short story that place in the time frame between Deity and Apollyon.
It is from Aiden’s POV and gives us a great look at him and how much he really cares and just how much he is willing to risk for Alex.
It is a great and fast read and I recommend you read it before you move on to Apollyon. Do not read it unless you read Deity since it will spoil it.

I LOVE AIDEN

I'm pretty sure that I didn't need to state that since it's pretty onbious that I love Aiden. I mean, who wouldn't. But still, I felt it to be necessary.

This was such a great novella and I loved reading from Aiden's POV very much. I an also gutted for how Aiden must feel and how much pain he's faced.

I know Alex has had a really hard time but so has Aiden. Every time Alex gets hurt or dies, I can't imagine what he muct go through. Because as much as dying sucks, watching a person you love (especially if you love the person as much as Aiden loves Alex) die is probably infinitely worse. The strenth that Aiden has exhibited in this novella, and throughout this series really, is jarring.

I wish the best for Aiden and Alex. They are one of my favourite couples and have such a strong bond, it's hard to imagine one ever being happy without the other. The very best to both of them. May the odds be ever in their favour...

**Do not read this novella or review if you have not read Deity. It is major spoilery for Deity!!**

My review:

Elixir took me on such an emotional rollercoaster; I was left in emotional turmoil. And being able to read from Aiden’s POV is amazing. I have loved that boy from the first moment, and being able to experience Elixir through his eyes made me fall even harder for him. Is that even possible? It is.

I am very happy that this book takes place right after Deity. Deity ending in such a cliffhanger I didn’t know what to do, and I wasn’t expected Elixir to take place right after. So when I discovered that, I was thrilled! It is making the wait for Apollyon a little more bearable.

‘I was still surprised that I was still alive.’

Things are just never easy for Aiden when it involves Alex. But he wouldn’t have it any other way. He’d do anything to save her, even if it meant taking on the gods themselves, he’d do it. He’d do it all for her.

With the wakening of Alex, she’s now a full blown Apollyon, and Aiden has to protect her. She has lost herself, the one thing she feared above everything else. And with their enemies closing in, they are running out of time. Aiden has to save her, he knows he can, he has to.

Even with the love they have for each other, can it be enough to reach and save Alex before it’s too late? Aiden is dead set to prove it is, because his love for Alex is the reason he exists.

Love really does make a man reckless, but it is also his greatest strength.

‘”Because I love you,”’

This book was just want I needed after the emotional turmoil I went through in Deity, but Elixir isn't a walk in the park. Seeing through Aiden’s eyes was an experience I will cherish always. Though what he goes through made my heart hurt for him, but again, like Deity you get so see another side of Aiden. You get to see many sides of him. And I absolutely enjoyed that.

Aiden, Apollo and Marcus have found a way to contain Alex for the time, but they still need to find a way for her to break the bond that Seth has over her. And they need to do it fast. Time is running out. Then when things can’t seem to get more difficult they find out the Gods are planning to go to war and that is what Seth and Lucian what. They have turned everyone against the gods and Alex. Through it all Aiden tries his best to keep hope.

They do find a way to temporarily break the bond, but it is something Aiden is completely against, however, he knows it is the only way to help, until they find a way to permanently do so. They then put Alex on the Elixir and it nearly kills Aiden. I was able to feel his pain and hesitation throughout the entire book. It was so sad to see Alex that way. My heart really goes out to Aiden, but his love for her shines so bright. When everyone is losing hope, Aiden gets an unexpected visit from fate herself. Aiden knows what he has to do, and if it’ll save Alex, he’ll do it.

‘”Love is the only thing more powerful than fate.”’

This book is intense with Aiden’s emotions, his thoughts and his feelings. And they are strong, I could feel them seeping off the page, right into my bones. Jennifer has a way with words, a way with story telling that is beyond powerful, it ensnares you, consumes you and gets in your blood. And like Deity, Elixir was a story I am so happy that I got to experience. Reading from Aiden’s POV is something I would love to experience more of. All I can say is Aiden, I love you!!

Jennifer did, once again, amazing. Elixir is making the wait for Apollyon bearable, and it was a journey I am going to experience again and again. From her beautiful detail, well-paced plot, witty, cocky and amazing characters, she has become one of my favorite authors.

Refreshing, eyeopening, heartwarming and beautiful.

Well hot diggity dog.... Aiden is pretty damn sexy when he's got war in his veins. I will also say it was pretty awesome to be inside his head for once. Bring it on Apollyon!!
