Thought the art was wonderful, the concepts maybe a little hard for small kids... worth a look though :)

I like the concept of "this is smaller than this, which is smaller than this...." to show relationships, and I think this may fit well for beginning readers, but the beginning and the ending felt tacked on.

This is a quiet, thoughtful picturebook, talking in part about size and scale, but also just an introduction to the wonders and diversity of the world. The illustrations are beautiful, and the changes in scale feel breathtaking at times. The colors are muted-- and I'm not sure how I feel about that. I think it lends to the quiet, thoughtful tone. It makes the book feel like it is from a different era.
I totally agree what other people have said in reviews about the beginning and ending of the book feeling tacked on, and the title not working. I'm not sure what occasion this book is for-- is it just a picture book, or is it a concept / science book?
The book certainly caught my eye, but I think I need to read it a couple more times to decide whether I love it or just appreciate it.

I love this whole book....except for the very last page. "What is bigger than the sky? The never-ever-ending sky."
Honestly, though, I kinda want to disassemble this book and frame each page and put it on my wall. The art is gorgeous!
