Alright, ya wankers! (I've been dying to say that.) Talk British to Me had me from the title. That was before I saw the cover... I am proud to say that I am the equivalent of an accent ho. Meaning your accent turns me on, I could listen to you spout utter bull at me for hours if you have an accent. So a book where the guys speaks with a British accent- yeah, I had to!

What a fun book it was! It's definitely more on the sweet side than steamy. But most of the book is built on chemistry and tension. Plus everyone knows the more powerful the build up the better the explosion!

What you don't know is that book is actually a lot of fun. It's an easy read with no gut shredding, and of the world experiences. It has some feels but nothing that will make you need to do a makeup check because you were hiding in the bathroom at work to finish it. Just don't drop it (lame toilet joke).

So that was a:
yes- read it
no- dropping your copy in the toilet
yes- it's fun
no- if you work for BBG, you cannot show her this
yes- I hope to find out the interesting little relationship drama we got a glimpse of before it ended!

This book made me feel as great as when I read the Off-Campus series by Elle Kennedy.
The affection, the attraction and respect between Mateo and Teague was adorable and I got attached to every character in the book.

Oh, and this is one of those where the synopsis and title don't do it justice.

I love a good I can’t date you but I really want to story. Matteo has a secret job. He’s also been hurt badly by an ex. When Teague literally runs into him, he is intrigued. However he dates women with no intent on being exclusive or settling down.
Teague is determined to make it away from her family. She left her hometown when her ex publicly humiliated her and now men are not a priority. But that Matteo guy she just sauced with a plate of wings just keeps turning up.
There is some drama surrounding connections they have but it is not overboard. I love that they spend time together and acknowledge that they want different things. Good banter and I loved the sass.
The constant conversation about her perfect boobs and ass was a bit annoying. Also, his eyes are REALLY green, just in case you missed one of the 200 references to them.
All in all, it’s a good quick read with sexy times that don’t take over the book.

If you follow the books I read, then you know I love just about anything with a British hero. So imagine my surprise when this book does not have have a British hero and the hero using a fake British accent is supposed to be giving dating advice but is pretty clueless.

I was ready to put this one down pretty quickly, but I pushed forward. For one, I liked Teague. She was a heroine I immediately connected with. And I'll admit, Mateo intrigued me. But I was lost on the whole dating advice gig. He was just as clueless about dating/relationships, seemed to use his job as a way to get laid and material for his next show. It seemed way to shallow for a guy who actually ran a charity soccer camp.

Some may love this book, but I think the title and the blurb did more of a disservice to this book than the storyline itself.

Teague and Mateo

3.5 stars

This was a fun read. The ending was a bit rushed, but still enjoyable, if you want a light, sweet read.

I have never read anything by Robin Bielman but this book sounded interesting so I just had to read it.

I read this pretty quickly because I was just so hooked into this story. I loved Mateo and Teague together because were likeable and very relatable. I loved the chemistry too.

If you are looking for a good , laugh out loud and cute book I do recommend Talk British To Me by Robin Bielman.

I give this 5 out of 5.

Such a sweet story! Both characters were SO likable- Teague is intelligent and somewhat reserved heroine- someone you'd love to have in your friend group. Mateo is sexy and charming and so funny! Friends to lovers is one of my favorite tropes, and when you toss in a good slow burn, I'm a goner. Robin Bielman really nailed this one! The storyline is fun and light and engaging- I absolutely loved Talk British to Me!
