2⭐️ | The reason this book is only two stars is because it was very very slow. Majority of the book is spent in the past and I just wanted to know the present. However, all the past information was very much needed in order to get the end result of the book.

Although I figured out the twist when I read like 20% of the book, it was so thrilling to see it all unfold. Felt like I was in the middle of the desert, driving with my windows down, listening to Ribs by Lorde. This book captured the feeling of growing up and losing your best childhood friend (but there's also been a murder)

fun read, but my god, the dialogue was atrocious at times. it felt like amelia kahaney has never spoken to a teenager before. pondering a broken friendship and then saying you're listening to skrillex took me right out of the story. really good apart from that

3.5 stars. A fun read! Was a bit to teen-y for me, but then again I can get past that there were just a few lines that made me cringe a bit. I did figure out the ending which I was proud about lol

Struggled to like any character and found them to be vapid, selfish, whiny, or just too naive (even for teens).

All the Best Liars was an extremely engaging YA Thriller.

As a reader, I do not tend to read a lot of thriller books but I found myself caught up with this story and couldn't wait to solve the mystery. The story initially begins with a prologue, set in the past and introducing us to Syd, Rain and Brie...three childhood friends. From here we jump forward in time to mainly follow the perspectives of Syd and Rain as they deal with the ups and downs of High School, popularity, relationships and friendship. Unfortunately over time, their friendship with Brie has waned as she moved to a fancier neighbourhood and gained popularity herself. A fire suddenly changes things for the girls, resulting in a death. But what really happened and who is responsible? This book will definitely have you questioning that all the way through.

With alternating perspectives and timelines in the lead up to the fire (and beyond), this book is full of exciting twists and turns. I found initially it was a little slow but it became extremely engaging and I didn't want to put it down. In the lead up to the big reveal, I was finding myself putting things together but I really loved the satisfaction I felt when I realised my theory was correct.

If you are looking for a YA thriller to enjoy, I highly recommend All the Best Liars.

Thank you to Walker Books Australia for providing me with a copy in exchange for an honest review.

All The Best Liars had so many of the elements I look for in a YA novel. It was perfect. Expertly written. It jumped from past to present in a manner that was easy to follow, yet also built the suspense to painstaking levels as we got more and more pieces of the puzzle. Each character had such a distinct voice and personality, and I love that we got to hear from each of them. The dynamic between them was so real.. So plausible. Girls are really fucking like that.
MUST READ.
