Mafia intrigues

The book was great, but I must admit I was expecting something a little different. With Bones heartless ways and likes for being a dominant, I thought we would get a lot more scenes of dom/sub relationship…

Though it would end up the kind of relationship he could bring somewhere like Kink.

But the action was good, and the only story that feels left to be told his Jasmine’s and Nite’s.

The Kings are officially of the market!

I have been looking for Silent Nite and I am very disappointed to say that I don’t think it was written… i can’t believe that it’s been promoted for so long and it didn’t come out after the last book of the series in 2022. After 5 books in this series, I was getting attached to does characters and feel abandoned in the end…
I’m a sucker for reading series and when it’s left with no ending

This is Bones and Mia story. This is a very dark twisted sexy story that takes you on an emotional ride. This King is a strong possessive alpha male, and Mia is a witty lady that fights Bones. You can feel the emotional roll off the pages as this story will pull you right in from the beginning to the very ending through this emotional ride.

Luca Bianchi goes to his friend and king, Bones for help to save his sister Mia from being sold into a sex trafficking ring. Once he has her he swears to save and protect her from anyone and everyone who threatens her.
As a mafia princess Mia has been in hiding most of her life, treated like a no body and a bargaining chip, she has been through hell and has survived.

“ I want everyone to see how much you’re loved, Mia. You are my someone, and I wanted the world to know that”

“Show me a man in love, and I’ll show you his greatest weakness.”

Bones, the fifth installment in the Dark Kingdom series, can be read as a standalone or part of the series.

Many things come easily for Bones. As one of the Kings, violence and darkness are what his soul is made of and he is as ruthless as his nickname claims. When his closest friend comes to him needing help saving Mia, the baby sister that Bones never knew existed, Bone's entire world might be upended. Mia is a pawn to her family and her family will do anything it takes to see the Kings fall. But Bones will do anything it takes to protect what is his.

+ Forced Proximity
+ Enemies to Lovers
+ Touch Her and I'll Unalive You

Listen, this has all the tropes I love. I love a man willing to burn down the world for the woman he loves and Shantel Tessier never fails to deliver with that trope. The anxiety I felt at each turn of the page when we would get a revelation from one POV and then switch to the other and see the fall out or how they were dealing with it? Incredibly high. I wanted to see Bones crush her brothers, to make them pay for everything we see Mia endure at their hands.

The contrast of the dark, mysterious, and brutal with the innocent, vulnerable, and "untouched" was just *chefs kiss*. I love that we got to see just how brutal Bones was towards the world, but also his compassion at aiding and protecting those he loved. Seeing Mia blossom from the sheltered, naive woman in the beginning to her power at the end was perfection.

If you are looking for a "touch her and I will unalive you" possessive MMC to protect the delicate sheltered and mistreated FMC in an action packed, brutal dark mafia romance, look no further than Shantel Tessier.

I’ve been looking forward to Bones’ book from the very first when he was closely associated with Emiliee, and this one far exceeded expectations. It was very clever to re-rope Luca and his family into the series, as Luca’s book was once a standalone turned book 1, so for the others, he was associated but less involved, while this one brought him back while also seemingly setting more up for Nite’s book. All in all, a very well rounded story for that reason.

At the start I definitely thought the book would go one way and it took a sharp turn left and surprised me, but for the better. I enjoyed how the set up between Bones/Dillan and Mia rolled out. How it wasn’t what the beginning set it up to be. I loved the slow-build between them and the slow possessiveness that seeped into him

I enjoyed every moment of this book, to be honest, and it’s a solid conclusion to the series.
