Book 2 of the series. It is action from the very start. Very fast paced book. The romance was also a bit fast paced but not completely awkward because of it.

I like this series but the pacing of this book is not my favourite. This whole book happens in the span of a few days! It’s a spicy, fun, quick read though!

Oh my. I absolutely enjoy knowing that there are 8 more books in this series!!! Strong heroines, strong heroes, wicked villains… all make for a great story.

This book pulled me in from the very first page. One of the things that was interesting to me was that the threat originated from another country, while realizing the threat could have just as easily initiated from any country in the world including the US. Curious.

To be honest if I was in a mall where that type of gunfire was going off, my first thought would not be international terrorists.

The book was pretty suspenseful from almost the first to the last page. There were a couple of moments when things got a little convoluted. I was listening to the audiobook, and had to rewind. I did enjoy the narration. I thought Eric G. Dove did an excellent job. I never had to wonder about who was speaking.

The beginning of the book described what the "terrorists" were attempting to accomplish. Later in the book, there seemed to be a twist, or it felt like different people had different agendas.

Both Jed and Vivi were holding on to a lot of baggage. The romance was decent. I liked both of the characters. I did wonder about the purpose of introducing Jed's former high school girlfriend, along with the suggest about his brother. I couldn't see where it served a significant purpose.

I did like the dynamic between Jed and Michael. Jed's need to protect Michael and accept him with no issues, was sweet. I also liked that we got to revisit Alex and Mallory from book 1, as well as Frazer. I fully expect Killian to turn up in a book. I enjoyed the banter between Jed and Killian.

A good amount of suspense, danger, violence throughout the book along with some romance. I would give this book 4.5 stars.

A Cold Pursuit is the second book in the Cold Justice series by Toni Anderson. It was remarkably well written, and I was hooked right away. The intrigue, twists, and turns kept me on the edge of my seat until the end. It was such an emotional and heartbreaking story and was one of those books you can’t put down until the end and even then, you still want more.
Off-duty FBI agent Jed Brennan got caught in the mall during a terrorist attack. Doing whatever he had to, he got Vivi out of the mall. Once he discovers Michael is in danger, he will do whatever he must to keep them safe.
Trapped inside a mall during a terrifying terror attack, all single mom Vivi Vincent thought of was to protect her eight-year-old son Michael. Unknowingly she hid him in a spot where he saw and heard the terrorist’s conversation. Now his life is in danger, and she must depend on Jed to keep them safe.
This was a wonderful book, and I loved the combination of intrigue and romance. The storyline had plenty of depth and kept me reading until the end. The ending was a surprise and very unpredictable. I really enjoyed the book and I look forward to the next book in the series.
I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Wow, what a twisty plot...

Vivi is one of my favorite female characters. Fiercely loyal, nerdy, and pretty but doesn’t know it. Jed puts everything he’s got into everything he does. When they crash into each other it takes them a while to gel, but when they do it’s incendiary. But this story grabs you and takes you on an action packed thrill ride you can’t put down. Loved it!
