This is probably my favorite volume in the series so far. There's a lot of plot development and character development, plus intrigue! The Black Moon arc provides a new element to the series with a futuristic element. There's a lot to take in here as the relationship between Usagi and Chibi-usa is much different from the one Chibi-usa has with her in the future. It's both a sad and interesting arc that leaves me wondering how it developed. There's also the moments between Usagi and Mamoru, which are tender and show what the anime leaves out in favor of a more antagonistic relationship. All-in-all, the Black Moon arc shows a more mature side to the story as Usagi comes into her powers, relationships, friendships, and burden of saving the world.

The plot is getting sooo much better! The last volume almost lost me but this one made up for it. I love the artwork and the characters.

The 'Sailor Moon R' arc continues in this volume, and luckily more questions are being answered about the Dark Moon Kingdom as well as Chibiusa. I love that Takeuchi explores Chibiusa and Usagi's relationship with some actual thought, considering where Chibiusa's from and how Usagi feels about both her and Mamoru. Usagi looks totally gorgeous in Neo-Queen Serenity's dress; too bad it's due to Prince Diamond's skeevy advances. Plus, SAILOR PLUTO SAILOR PLUTO SAILOR PLUTO SAILOR PLUTO did I mention she's like one of my top favorites because yes. And Usagi and Mamoru totally do it in this volume, which makes it awesome.
