I took quite a break from this series, and let me just say, I'm so happy this was the next book in the series.
I loved this book. I did get a little annoyed with the miscommunication, but I do think it was necessary in telling Bridget and A'tam's story at it explained a lot about why they fought/argued a lot, so it didn't take me out of the story a lot.
Despite their miscommunication and their mutual stubbornness, Bridget and A'tam may be another one of my favorite couples on the Ice Planet.
I don't know if I would've liked this book at much had I not taken such an extensive break from the series, considering the fact that I was starting to get a little bored, possibly due to the minor reading slump I ended up having during the summer, so I'm glad that I took some time away from the series before getting into this book. I'm excited to continue with the next book and get Steph's and the outcasts story.
Overall this was a really great book and I'd definitely recommend it.

Classic miscommunication trope...which I usually despise...but this was well done and supported the storyline. Ruby does the impossible and brings you along to what ends up being a surprisingly sweet HEA.
Minor: Abandonment, Body shaming, Child abuse, Sexual content, Emotional abuse, and Gaslighting

TW/CW: Painful intercourse, emotional and verbal abuse, child abuse
Ohhhh wow, I haven't been this annoyed with a book in a while lol but the ending sure saved it. This book is the epitome of miscommunication. Bridget doesn't speak her mind or ask for help to tells A'tam what she wants (she has past trauma that makes her so secretive) so she kind of just grins and bears it when it comes to intercourse and she has a pretty rough time. He hurts her but is completely clueless when it comes to human ways and Bridget doesn't instruct him how to please her. Should he be more attentive and notice when she's unhappy? Absolutely, but the man is not a mind reader. So basically the entire book she's mad that he's not taking the hint and he's mad that she's not telling him why she doesn't want mate. It's a lot of back and forth but when they finally do seek counseling and begin to talk to each, it is super sweet and A'tam is really attentive and sexy!
