Absolute Guff! I mean seriously, how dense is Jessie-the-rural-cop??? A wolf attacks a woman and runs off injured into the woods where you track it to an isolated cabin(cue spooky music and shouts of whoooooo!). The blood trail stops at a bush and from it steps a naked guy with an injured leg! Jessie asks how he hurt himself! Oh for goodness sake!!! Then she is still baffled when the wolf victim goes wolfy and attacks someone. If you can't figure out the plot to this book in 10 seconds flat then I fear for your future reading! Seriously, I get annoyed by dumb MCs and plots where nobody believes what they are really dealing with. I guess if you like light paranormal books, you'll like it better than me!

I liked the mystery and the idea of the characters and their relationships. The ending (and the big reveals) also worked quite well for me. I had some issues/problems with Jessie being so jaded etc when she was only twenty-six. There was no specific trauma or issue that I could perceive and yet she would never marry, men/boys didn't really see her. She was also rather critical of some of the junior? cops. This is a pet peeve of mine; you can be jaded and vulnerable (and good at your job) and have issues with self-esteem and belonging, but when you've only been a cop for about four years (there is a reference to her going to university) I have trouble taking your comments about your long years on the force seriously.

I enjoyed this and read it almost straight through. (I stopped to sleep for a few hours then went right back to it!) I was pretty unsure of what was going on for most of the book, so I think that's a point in the author's favor. The cover artist clearly never actually read the book since the main male character has Short hair, not the long flowing locks of an Indian brave. (Grrrr, stuff like that bothers me!) I really liked the sarcastic and aggressive female main character who knew her way around firearms, hunting, and breaking up bar fights. Awesome!
Have to say though, I was very disappointed that the werewolves were the bad guys. I was all ready to suspend my disbelief that Will could still be some other kind of coyote skin-walker or Something, Anything else just to explain his strange strength and agility... Maybe it just isn't given away in this book? Oh, I hope so!

Ehhh. To say the truth I don't like paranormal romance. I actually thought this was a urban fantasy book, which I do like.

Good points of the book
+ I liked the bizarre nazi werewolves. I mean usually it would be deemed to silly to appear in a book, but it makes actually a good plot.
+ The german hunter was actually a pretty cool character.
+ I could read this in one sitting.
+ I liked the last part of the book (since
Spoilerthe dude at the station was revealed to be a werewolf
).

Bad points of the book
- The main character is SO annoying and SO Mary Sue. She's this not girly-girl who has daddy issues and nobody loves her and isn't gorgeous but has HUGE breasts and doesn't let anyone in her life BUT WAIT this super hot super cool maybe a werewolf dude comes along. Seriously her daddy issues and mary-sueness were awful. You do not have to drop every two pages that nobody ever loved you and that your father left you. It made me want to drop the book a few times. She is also very dense.
- Will. Seriously that dude annoyed me. He was set up to be a werewolf with all the super speed and all that,
Spoilerbut he actually ended up not being one. Seriously what is even the point of that?
There was a ton of pointless sex and he was a super hot dude but who was also insecure and... let's drop it there.

But considering what I've read from the genre, it's above average, so I'm giving it three stars.

Not sure if I liked this book. Weird story.
But I bought the first three in a bundle so I give it another try.

I know it's quite common with these kind of books but it's bugging me that once more the german cover and title have nothing to do with the content of the book.
