Another Inspector Morse installment. The characterization of Morse in this novel showed an uncertain and anxious detective who works to solve a murder of a woman that he was wanting to have a relationship with (affair is the better word).

Another enjoyable read, the explanation at the end felt a bit far fetched
withthe brothers posing as each other when speaking to either Morse or Lewis
but all in all a good read

Really fun recognising places now that I know Oxford- e.g. Morse struggling to find parking in Jericho (and getting a parking ticket). The mystery wasn't so compelling, but it was written well and was interesting going along for the ride

A good Morse book (we listened to the audio book read by Lewis which was really good, his impersonations of Morse were quite believable) quite sad too.

Did not like it. Very strange descriptions of women…….

This was a good Morse novel with a few clever twists and turns but none too extreme. Unusually, the suspect is quite clear from the outset. What is difficult is understanding how the events took place

Debated a 3 or 4. Probably a 3.75
