Once again came here for Kalynn Bayron, but being glad I didn't read ONLY her story, because there were so many gems in this one. I think Lights, All My Best Friends Are Dead, and No Harm Done were my favorites but honestly it's hard to choose.

Some short stories I liked more than others. Some had issues with pacing or lack of page breaks for a good stopping point. I liked the different approach to social issues and thought these were interesting and unique stories. Overall I enjoyed it

3.5 stars.

This took me much longer to finish than it should have. I'm realizing that I read short stories collections/anthologies very slowly. I think this was an enjoyable collections and there were only two stories that I had a hard time being invested in. My personal favorites I think are, "Be Not Afraid" by Ashia Monet, "All My Best Friends are Dead" by Liselle Sambury, "Mother, Daughter, and the Devil" by Donyae Colesand "No Harm Done" by Circe Moskowitz. I knew a lot of the authors who were involved but I was also introduced to new authors and authors who are debuting this year. I'm interested in checking out their other works.

The first few stories are truly terrifying, but after that it feels like they get less and less scary and rushed. A few of them would be much better as novellas/full books where there is time to build the tension more slowly or give us a fuller story.

I am, quite decidedly, not a horror girlie by any stretch of the imagination - I can barely watch a horror movie trailer and get freaked out for weeks. But this was quite enjoyable!!

Some of the short stories were definitely weaker than others, but there were some standouts that I really enjoyed (my favorites being 'Be Not Afraid', 'The Consumption of Vienna Montreau' and 'Mother, Daughter and the Devil')!
